Personification

Definition: Personification is when you give something that is not a human being human like attributes.

Example:

  • Earth felt the wound; and Nature from her seat, Sighing, through all her works, gave signs of woe. - John Milton

  • Snow speaks to the people, its falling above in the glooming sunlight. Its white sparkling voice echoes as it falls through the air - Jake

  • Explanation: A poet might use personification to help add intrest into the poem. The poet would give animals or other things human like qualities so that the reader could relate more too the object or there ideas.
