Imagery

Definition: Imagery in poetry is when the author uses certain words to connect with the readers senses so that the readers experience with the poem is better.

Example:
I took a walk around the world to
Ease my troubled mind
I left my
body laying somewhere
In the
sands of time
I watched the world float to the dark
Side of the moon

I feel there is nothing I can do
--"Kryptonite" by Three Doors Down
Explanation: The poet uses imagery so that the reader can imagine what is going on in the poem better. He would feel more connceted in the poem and he can relate to the poem better. The reader could feel his senses like his taste, touch, hearing, seeing, and hearing if there is imagery in a poem.
